Meet Abril
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from St. Edward’s University in Austin and later my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. After receiving my master’s in counseling, I went on to obtain my professional license in Texas and specialize in early childhood mental health.
I’m passionate about working with parents due to my own experiences being raised in a single-parent household and seeing the stress of a parent with limited tools to manage difficult child behaviors and situations
I have over 8 years of experience providing therapy to children, teens, and their families on a variety of presenting issues including trauma, anxiety, ADHD, depression, and disruptive behaviors. I specialize in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and aim to create a space for parents to learn positive ways of interacting with their children and practice the skills and strategies needed to address difficult behaviors.
